SOURCE CODE – CODED BEFORE

WORTH FULL PRICE OF ADMISSION BASED ON THE ACTION SCENES

We must be upfront right from the start. This storyline has been done before multiple times in film and tv.  Can you say Denzel Washington in Deja Vu? Day Break with Taye Diggs? Or how about Quantum Leap from the late 80’s which is where it seems this movie took a lot of its characteristics from?

The plot is the same as all the others. A bomb goes off on a train in Chicago and the US Army uses a fallen soldier to go back in time via an experimental project to find the bomb and bomber to prevent a future attack on the city.

Considering director Duncan Jones was not misleading in the advertising of the movie, I think we all knew what we were going to get before seeing this film. Therefore the actors and the action scenes had to save the day on this one. The recipe for disaster was there but actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga saved the day with their performances. Writer Ben Ripley did his part in writing an intriguing and believable plot to keep the audience glued to the screen.

Though its been done before many many times, we must admit Source Code was worth a watch. Whether you pay full price or see it at a matinee, you won’t be disappointed.
