IMMORTALS – ALMOST

IF YOU’RE INTO THESE TYPE OF MOVIES THIS IS WORTH A NIGHT TIME FEATURE

When these type of films come out we expect to see a few things: outstanding cinematography, excellent music, awesome costumes and great acting. Well, this Tarsem Singh directed movie almost lived up to our expectations.

Theseus, a bastard born son of a peasant mother, was a trained warrior who was chosen by the gods to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke)  and his evil army. To avenge King Hyperion, Theseus would have to protect the Epirus bow which is powerful enough to release the deadly Titans who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time.

If you are  into these type of movies you definitely would be entertained once the fighting begins. The 3D cinematography and music was outstanding and was the highlight of the film. Unfortunately, the costumes lacked the realistic look that these movies usually possess. This was obvious when the body armor bounced like rubber. Further, why did all the warriors fight barefoot or in sandals with the exception of one army booted warrior? Did they really have access to army boots during this era?

It’s not the best warrior movie by far, but if you like  action/fighting/battle movies, you will enjoy it.  If those movies are not your forte, save your money and check it out on DVD.
