THE CAMPAIGN – FITTINGLY FUNNY

Punch A Full Price Ticket For This One

Looking at the various political commercials running on TV, its painfully obvious that running a dirty campaign can keep you relevant. Whether relevant is shed in a positive or negative  light, any news is good news. Thus the release of this film by director Jay Roach is exactly what the doctor ordered to bring some humor to a normally stressful time of the year.

Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) running for re-election of the North Carolina district, prepares to single-handedly win his campaign race, until an unknown rival candidate (Zach Galifianakis) joins the race. At first glance, Cam believes he will beat his opponent easily, but it quickly becomes obvious that unless Cam takes his campaign seriously, he will be a looser to a nobody.

As we stated above, this movie is right on time as local and nationwide elections ramp up. As stressful as elections can be, a little laughter can go along way for some of us looking for our candidates to come out on top.

You won’t regret punching your ticket for this film, because writers Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell deliver a pretty funny movie. The way it makes fun of the serious moments of an election are intriguing and as the film advances, the laughter continues throughout.

Its not the funniest film of the year, but you will be entertained just the same. Please keep in mind that this film has many sexual references throughout. So you may want to consider leaving the kiddies at home.
