Movie Synopsis: Set in the Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a bootlegging gang is threatened by authorities who want a cut of their profits.

    I was blackmailed once in high school because I had seen a copy of our Science test before it was given out so I knew most of the answers. My “friend” threatened to tell if I didn’t provide her lunch snacks for a whole week!

    I used to car pool to work with my coworker to save gas. We would trade off with each driving every other day. One day i could not find my work pager after i got out of the vehicle and told him that i dropped it in his car and i need it for work. He told me that he had it and it would cost me $50 bucks and if i reported it he would deny it. I went to the secretary the second day and told her to call the police Department and report it stolen and also to the pager company and tell them it was my coworker. She intervened and got it back and we never carpooled again. Go figure? I thought he was okay untill he did this.

    I work in a school and have heard many stories of studetns blackmailing eachother. Some say the cheated because “so and so” was going to tell his parents he had been drinking the night prior. Some say they had to write a paper for “so and so” because he going to tell all of their friends one of his secrets. Silly stuff is all I’ve heard.

    When I was younger my brother broke a glass and he told me if I say anything to our parents he would tell that I had company in the house when they were gone.

    While I was in college, my good friend was blackmailed by another student for plagiarizing another students work. In order to get from under the pressure tactics, threats/payments, my friend ultimately had to find more dirt on the other person. She also had to turn herself in for cheating.

    Wow, I don’t know of anyone who may have been blackmailed…..If they were they didn’t let anyone else know, I guess that is the purpose of being blackmailed….

    I had a supervisor get me to do what he wanted by say that if I didn’t do it he would not grant my vacation day’s when I needed them if I didn’t do what he wanted.

    When I was in 2nd grade I looked up my homeroom teacher’s dress. To keep her from telling my mother, I had too clean the teacher’s black board at the end of every school day.

    I built a porch on my house that was not code and without permission of the city. My neighbor threatened to go to the city unless I allowed him to use the hot tub on my property. So I didn’t gave to get rid of my porch, I had to allow my neighbor to use my hot tub.

    Well, of course as a child the authority figures are your parents so I supposed I was blackmailed by my parents when they offered various incentives to secure certain behaviors.

    I was!! Forced to resign from a job to avoid being fired simply because the boss didnt like a comment I made on facebook, not even about him or my job!!! Really???

    Well, it wasn’t me but a friend of mine moved in with a roommate. Now they both have kids but my friend always ends up watching them and doing the dirty work. The roommate knows my friend doesn’t have a lot of places to go but tries to control her that way anyways. So it is kind of like blackmail.

    My older brother once blackmailed me when I caught him coming home past is curfew ( and he had been drinking) one night. He swore that not only would he beat the daylights out of me, but he would also tell my then girlfriend that I had been cheating on her with another. (ouch! Young love!) I keep his secret….

    I was pulled over many years ago in the 80’s for not wearing a seat belt. They could not pull you over for that and when the ticket was given and I called the city they told me that the officer could just say I was pulled over for something else and let me go with just not wearing a seat belt.

    I was told by an administrator at a previous job that he could make my stay quite miserably if I didn’t agree to provide students with “a little extra assistance” on an upcoming exam for the purpose of boosting the school’s overall scores.

    I felt blackmailed by a policeman because I got a ticket even though my child was clearly wearing a seatbelt. We were told you just better pay because the judge would take the side of the policeman….maybe that highway robbery too.
