If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is recruited to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult challenges and simulations, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham himself to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race. Based on the best-selling, award winning novel, ENDER’S GAME is an epic adventure which stars Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, with Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford. (SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT) This film is rated PG-13.
A few years ago I had a little boy in my preschool class that could add 3 digit numbers subtract and multiply them so I suggested that the parents have him tested and they did he was put up 4 grades because his IQ was off the chart for his age
Throughout my life I have encountered some very gifted children. However none of them were as gifted as this child named Ian. From a young age Ian stood out from other children. Having a rather large head and a big body man the situation worse. Even though Ian was bigger and stronger than most kids his age, it was not his raw strength that people noticed the most. It was his intelligence. This kid had to be some kind of genius because I have never saw a child that was able to do basic algebra and still have the edge to go to Chuck E Cheeses. At the age of 3 he understood multiplication, addition, but struggled with subtraction. I don’t know where this kid is today but in sure he is doing some great things.
My god son is gifted. He is beyond his time and advanced for his age.
My friend’s 8 year old child is a piano prodigy. She can play full Chopin and Mozart songs flawlessly.
A friend of mine had an autistic son. It didn’t seem like he ever paid attention to anything anyone said because he was so busy. But the moment you ask him a math question, he knew the answer right away. It was amazing.
Ethan Bortnick began playing the piano at the age of three and was composing by the age of five.
He is both gifted and entertaining. He has been featured on several TV programs, such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The Martha Stewart Show and many more. This is a young man to watch.
I knew tons of gifted kids when I was in high school. Many of them were involved in sports and were excellent musicians
The only gifted child I ever knew in my life was my friend Steve Robinson he was hitting homeruns over the fence in elementary school when playing baseball..we were kids but he was hitting them with awesome power as a big kid w ease…however as he grew older he became a drug addict and hasn’t been seen since jr high school
I knew a child quite gifted in math and she became a statistician who is now a millionaire
Don’t know if a real life gifted child but would like to see this movie.
I know a girl who was diagnosed at age 3 as being gifted. She graduated first in her high school class and was named to Phi Beta Kappa in her junior year at U of M.
A gifted child that I have known, admired, and watch grow up is 12 year old Ethan Jordan Bortnick who is an American pianist, singer, composer, songwriter, actor, musician and one of the youngest philanthropists in the world. This child is AMAZING 🙂
I know a child that was so gifted that he was able to skip several grades. He actually ended up enrolling at Harvard at the age of 15. He now is CEO of a major company valued at ove $100 million dollars.
My 8 yr old brother is very gifted in lego’s..give him a picture and he makes it a reality
The gifted child I know was in one of my calculus classes. The ease in which he grasped what I was teaching was mind boggling! I discovered that his parents made difficult concepts easier for him by directing them in his play time. I have told this child that when he finishes his course of study in science to remember how much fun he was having learning new concepts and to continue to challenge what he was being taught. (I made it harder for his next series of teachers…) He in turn reminded me to also “think outside the box”! Amazing kid. I can’t wait to see what his contributions are going to be in the future!
I consider myself gifted, actually. I did very well in school and am now quite successful in the work place. Since I took advance placement classes in high school I entered the university as a sophomore.
I went to high school with a gifted child who graduated at the age of 16.He was a great guy and now he is a surgeon at U of M Hospital.
CAN I SAY GIFTED “YOUNG ADULT??” I HAVE KNOWN MY FORMER NEIGHBOR FOR ABOUT 35 YEARS. HE HAS A GENTLE SOUL. HE CAN TELL YOU ANY PRESIDENT (YEAR THEY WERE BORN, DIED, WHEN THEIR PRESIDENCY WAS, STATS ON WIFE AND CHILDREN, ETC . . . ). HE CAN GIVE YOU ANY INFORMATION ON OLD ACTORS, AS WELL. IT IS AMAZING!!!!!
My neighbor’s grandson was a savant. He could do math calculations using 3 to 7 digits without a calculator. He was truly gifted.
Probably because I’m a proud Uncle, but I think my niece is really progressive. In day care at the age of four she read stories to the other children.
We all would like to think that our own child is gifted. Well, thankfully, mine is….at least I hope she is. She is just now 19mo old but, so smart. I see more in her than most children her age. We can only hope this trend continues.
My daughter! She is an incredible writer. I can say that she has been writing books for as long as she learned to hold a pencil! Her imagination is out there and I know she will be known for her writing.
The gifted child I once knew was the daughter of a friend. She would come up with the most unique words and sentences as a very young child. We would wonder where she got it from…certainly not her parents. Lol
I know a child who is gifted. He is a freind’s child. He is so weird and strange…geeky. Being that said he is the nicest kid.
My cousin Tasha is a very gifted little girl.
